Oblivion - Remixed Album Cover

Okay ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for yet another CD review brought to you by the good folks at Metalpedia!

Me, that is!

For this one we have to go back a few years, so close your eyes, relax and imagine it is 1988-1990 again and the thrash scene is alive and kicking.

Are you there? Has your hair gotten bigger? :P No really, I’m not trying to be a smart ass just trying to set the mood. ;)

The truth is this review is for a newly released CD-R of a band from the past, named Oblivion. I was not familiar with this band (until now). I am assuming they we’re popular in their local scene, with maybe some traveling success mixed in. Though for whatever reason I had never heard of them until recently.

Wow!

This is a great metal CD! They know how to play their instruments and do a good job of mixing melodic thrash, death metal and a touch of hardcore punk for a bit of the crossover style.

As mentioned above they have just re-released all of their demo cassettes and some live tracks on one CD-R. It is simply titled Remixed. It has 18 songs for a grand total of more than an hour of music.

The only complaint(s) I have about the CD is it is a bit on the quiet side, but after you crank up the volume knob a bit, it is mixed well and you can hear everything pretty good. Plus the covers are really nice and stuff. Though that is why I only gave it 4 evil faces.

It reminds me of my youth. Even though I had never heard this band (that I know of) there we’re some local bands of the same style back in the day.
