Children Of Nar/Sars the Attack – Global Assault

So I got a request to review this CD and even received a free copy in the mail for doing so.

It turns out to be a split CD featuring the bands Children of Nar and SARS the Attack. These 2 bands feature the same guitarist but are far different from one another.

Children Of Nar
They seem to be poking fun at melodic black metal. They have alot of dark anthemic vocals and melody anyway, well sorta. It reminds me a bit of Absu’s vocal style with a comic twist of course.

SARS the Attack
SARS… on the other hand is more of an industrial death grind sorta band. They are not melodic whatsoever. There is a rhythm but beyond that just pure anger.

Overall
There is really not much here to review as far as music goes. I mean to say this was not a serious attempt at making music. This is pure comic silliness. Some of the guitar is cool, same with the vocals but all in all it is just a joke.

Though there are moments of pure genius, where I found myself belly laughing. It reminds me of some of the stuff my friends and I used to record when we we’re stoned. Songs like “Ninja Magic” and “Tuba Boy” confirm someone was high when this was made.

Not for the fan seeking serious material. If you are however into this comic metal sort of thing, it is top notch.
