behemoth-evangelion album cover

Okay it’s time for another review! This one’s for another band that I’ve heard about over the years, yet never really listened to. Until now that is! :)

Behemoth are back with their 9th full length release. This one was released by Metal Blade, has 9 tracks and is entitled Evangelion. It’s quite a masterpiece (Or well it’s good anyway) of technical death metal with some black metal undertones. ;) You know what? I should have been listening to them, long before now! :D

Nothing to inventive or anything. It’s been done before but they’re definitely doing it the right way. It reminds me a bit of a cross between Zyklon and Hate Eternal.

If you’re familiar with the sound of the 2 aforementioned bands then you now understand that Behemoth’s music goes real fast with little relenting, excellent riffs, awesome vocals, pounding double bass drumming and enough blast beats to jar you right out of your seat. This is powerful death metal. Though it’s not raw and unrefined. This is orchestrated technical music.

I’m quite pleased with this CD and can see listening to it quite a bit over the next few weeks.

If you’re a fan of hard hitting death metal on the technical side than this release might be right up your alley. 9 tracks of pure brutality for your listening pleasures.
