Q: Where is FuelBlooded from?
A: Fuelblooded is from Den Bosch - The Netherlands. This is where we rehearse and where most of our members live and have their roots.

Q: How long has FuelBlooded been together?
A: As Fuelblooded we are together for about 4,5 years now, but we were known as Sacramental Sachem for 13 years before we changed our name into Fuelblooded.

Q: How many members are in FuelBlooded? Names? Instruments?
A: Five members:

  • Michiel Rutten (guitars and backing vocals)
  • Norbert Moen (drums), Vital Welten (vocals)
  • Michel Steenbekkers (bass)
  • Danny Tunker (guitars)

Q: What is the age range of the band members?
A: Some of us are in their mid-twenties; the others prefer to be known as the youthful middle-aged ;-)

Q: What (if any) is the message behind FuelBlooded’s lyrics?
A: Some lyrics touch upon political subjects, but there’s also lyrics about personal issues and states of mind. And some lyrics are total fiction.

Q: Who are your biggest influences?
A: Most of us are influenced by US thrash (Testament, Slayer, Exodus, Megadeth, a.o.) death metal (Morbid Angel, Vomitory, Vader, Death, a.o.), Scandinavian melodic death metal (Darkane, Arch Enemy, Soilwork, a.o.). A band like Nevermore definitlet left it’s mark on us as well. O, and let’s not forget classic metal: Iron Maiden, Mercyful Fate, King Diamond; that kind of stuff.

Q: What is some of your favorite art, books (please include authors), & movies, if any?
A: Actually I should give this question to each Fuelblooded-member seperately, but for my preferences: I’m not a big art-fan. As for books, Stephen King (several books), Patrick Robinson (USS Seawolf), John Sandford (Pray) are among my favorites. Movies I particularly like are Evil Dead, Saw, Lord of The Rings, War of The Worlds, Hellraiser 1 till 4, Predator 1 and 2, The Pianist, Silence of the Lambs, and several more I can’t recall at this moment.

Q: When will FuelBlooded be touring? Is there a American/European tour planned?
A: Fuelblooded will tour the UK in early May together with Dutch melodic death metal masters Detonation. Several dates for that tour are confirmed and we are working on a few more. More shows will be announced in the near future. We’ll have to see if it’s possible to do a full European tour for this album. Let’s hope it is! We have no immediate plans to tour America at this time. It’s not that we don’t wanna go there, but we’ll have to see how the album does first.

Q: In general, what has FuelBlooded been up to lately?
A: We’ve been busy writing new songs for our next CD. Of course we’re also preparing ourselves for upcomings shows and the UK tour.

Q: How do you categorize FuelBlooded’s sound when people say “What kind of music is it” Death, Black, Metal, What?
A: Melodic thrash/death metal.

Q: Any FuelBlooded members from other bands, or currently working on other projects?
A: Yep, Michiel used to play in Boneability and he’s currently part of Nemesis Divina, Vital used to sing in Goden and is also in a band called Skulltured, Norbert used to drum in Amethyst, and Danny played with Form, Lemur Voice, Patatje Metal and many more of which I don’t know, I myself played in Seventh Episode, Grimwood and several other small bands.

Q: Any plans for the next CD yet, or are you still working on supporting the current release?
A: At this moment we are doing both. We wanna go back to the studio and record a new album later this year (we’re aiming for November). But we definitely wanna tour as much as possible for this album as well!

Q: Besides FuelBlooded, what are the various band members into when not, touring, rehearsing, recording music?
A: Making life as fun as possible, working their asses off for too little cash, being busy with their relationships, friends and family. Just living life as most people do, I guess. Well, maybe a little different ;-)
Q: What is your opinion on the current state of the world?(terror, the war in Iraq, and so on…)
A: I disapprove of any form of terrorism, extreme religiously based warfare. My opinion is that we all should be able to get along regarding color, religion and race.

Q: Anything I left out that you want to say?
A: Fuelblooded is fueled and ready to start the bleeding (musically that is!). Our new cd “Inflict the Inevitable” will be out on March 20, through Copro Records. Check it out! O, and check our website www.fuelblooded.com for news, tourdates and a few samples.
