Q: Where is Fu Manchu from?
A: We are from Orange county California. Everyone is living on the coast.
Q: How long has Fu Manchu been together?
A: I started the band in 1990. we started getting serious around 1993.
Q: How did Fu Manchu get started?
A: All 4 of us wanted to play loud music and hopefully put out a few records tour the states.
Q: How many members are in Fu Manchu? Names? Instruments?
A:

Q: What is the age range of the band members?
A: 5 to 105
Q: What (if any) is the message behind Fu Manchu’s lyrics?
A: No specific message. I’m into any sci-fi/car/biker imagery. The music is the most important part of the band.
Q: How many releases do you all have?
A: ALOT. I think 7 full length, 5 or 6 EPs, and a double live record.
Q: Who are your biggest influences?
A: For me, old early 80′s punk rock and hardcore. I like Blue Cheer, ZZ Top.
Q: Of the various tours and shows you have played, what is the most memorable, and why?
A: Damn, so many shows. Our first major tour was opening for Monster Magnet in 1994/1995. It was when they released their “Dopes To Infinity” record. It was cool to see them play every night. Monster Magnet is one of my favorites. Touring with Clutch, Speedealer and COC is always fun as well.
Q: What is some of your favorite art, books (please include authors), & movies, if any?
A: I love sci-fi movies, Bigfoot movies, old biker movies, cheesy party movies.
Q: When will Fu Manchu be touring? Is there a American/European tour planned?
A: We will have a new record out Sept/Oct 2006. We will be in full tour mode then. We will tour the states and Europe, Australia, Japan hopefully many times.
Q: In general, what has Fu Manchu been up to lately?
A: We are just writing new songs for our new record. We have about 15 new songs and we are playing 3 cover songs. 10 or 11 new songs will show up on the new record.
Q: Any Fu Manchu members from other bands, or currently working on other projects?
A: Brad records stuff on his own. Everyone else puts their all into Fu Manchu
Q: Any plans for the next CD yet, or are you still working on supporting the current release?
A: We have recorded 15 new songs that are in the demo stage. I’m just finishing putting vocals to them. We are not touring on our last record anymore.
Q: Besides Fu Manchu, what are the various band members into when not, touring, rehearsing, recording music?
A: Surfing, movies and Reeder likes to make carvings out of wood.
Q: What is your opinion on the current state of the world? (terror, the war in Iraq, and so on…)
A: So much horror!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
