A: We’re from Charlotte, NC.
Q: How long has Domination Through Impurity been together?
A: We’ve been together for about 2 years now.
Q: How many members are in Domination Through Impurity? Names? Instruments?
A: We’re currently a 3 piece band. I play guitar and do vocals, Jordan Varela plays drums and Dan Royer plays bass and does backing vocals.
Q: What is the age range of the band members?
A: Me and Dan are the youngins. haha. I’m 21 and Dan is 20. Jordan is 26 now.
Q: What (if any) is the message behind Domination Through Impurity’s lyrics?
A: There are too many different messages to name in a few sentences, but the main one would have to be that this world is too fucked up and people need to correct themselves and the way we all live for the better of mankind.
Q: Who are your biggest influences?
A: Mine are Meshuggah, Pantera, and old school Metallica. I learned how to play guitar by playing along with all of their music.
Q: What is some of your favorite art, books (please include authors), & movies, if any?
A: H.R. Geiger would have to be one of my favorite artists. His art is always so morbid and just all around weird. I love it. I don’t read much or watch movies too much either. I just rip metal all the time!! haha.
Q: When will Domination Through Impurity be touring? Is there a European tour planned?
A: Tour….hmm…due to our drummers demanding job and my tour schedule with Nile, touring with DTI isn’t too realistic at this time. If we get an offer too good to refuse in the future, though, we would definitely find a session drummer and hit the fucking road.
Q: In general, what has Domination Through Impurity been up to lately?
A: We’ve mostly been writing new material and trying to practice as much as we can when our hectic schedules intersect. It’s kind of a pain in the ass, but when we’re done with this next album, it will definitely be a force to reckoned with.
Q: How do you categorize Domination Through Impurity’s sound when people say “What kind of music is it” Death, Black, Metal, What?
A: I just keep it plain and simple…Technical Death Metal. If people want to get any more specific than that, well they’ll just have to listen to our album and decide for themselves.
Q: Any Domination Through Impurity members from other bands, or currently working on other projects?
A: We all play in too many bands. I play for 3 other bands: Nile, Pain After Death, and Sudden Fear. Dan plays in Pain After Death and Sudden Fear with me and also has a rock band called Scapegoat. Jordan plays in too many other bands to name. haha. I know of Lust of Decay and Lividity. He has more that I can’t remember or pronounce the names of. haha.
Q: Any plans for the next CD yet, or are you still working on supporting the current release?
A: Hopefully we’ll finish the writing process for the next album within 6 or 7 months. The name of the next album is “Imperfections of Parallel Societies.” We’re really trying to take our time with this one and make it as close to perfect as it can be. In the meantime, we’re still playing shows and trying to keep the underground metal scene alive.
Q: Besides Domination Through Impurity, what are the various band members into when not, touring, rehearsing, recording music?
A: Touring, rehearsing and recording is all we do. haha….seriously.
Q: What is your opinion on the current state of the world? (terror, the war in Iraq, and so on…)
A: Wow, politics….I think it’s all fucked up. No matter what we do, we’ll always have an idiot leading our country and there will always be muslim idiots blowing themselves up and harassing the rest of the world. So I just try to rip metal and enjoy life while we’re on this little rock floating in outer space.
