Q: Where is Cadaveria from?
A: North Italy, near Turin.
Q: If I remember correctly, the Olympics that just passed we’re held there. Did you attend or we’re you affected in anyway by the games?
A: Yes, I went and see a hockey on ice match and I lived the “movida” of some Turin olympic nights:)
Q: How long has Cadaveria been together?
A: Since 2001.
Q: How many members are in Cadaveria? Names? Instruments?
A: The original line-up was:
- Cadaveria - Voice
- Frank Booth - Guitars
- Killer Bob - Bass
- Baron Harkonnen - Keyboards
- Marcelo Santos - Drums
After the release of our 1st album Baron Harkonnen left the band to dedicate himself to another musical project, named DyNAbyte.
Q: What is the age range of the band members?
A: Around 32.
Q: What (if any) is the message behind Cadaveria’s lyrics?
A: There is not one only message. Our lyrics explore my mental states, my interests in contemporary arts, my nightmares and my believes.
Q: Who are your biggest influences?
A: Everything can influence our music: a good band (like Tool, Dream Theater), a special event, a strange movie…
Q: What is some of your favorite art, books (please include authors), & movies, if any?
A: In visual arts I love Francis Bacon and Italian modern painters like Burri and Fontana. My favorite books are Les Fleurs du Mal (Baudelaire) and all the horror literature (Poe, Lovecraft). I adore all movies of the following directors: David Lynch, Q. Tarantino and D. Cronenberg.
Q: When will Cadaveria be touring? Is there a European/American/Japanese/Other tour planned?
A: Actually we are busy with the recordings of our 3rd album, that will see the light in the end of 2006. We will surely tour Europe to promote it in the next year.
Q: In general, what has Cadaveria been up to lately?
A: Composing and recording. I’m also working for the CD artwork.
Q: How do you categorize Cadaveria’s sound when people say “What kind of music is it” Death, Black, Metal, What?
A: It is hard to describe but I think it could be representative to say we play a sort of death metal with progressive influences.
Q: Any Cadaveria members from other bands, or currently working on other projects?
A: Sure, I sing in DyNAbyte and our bass player and drummer are part of Necrodeath.
Q: Any plans for the next CD yet, or are you still working on supporting the latest release?
A: We will complete the recordings in two weeks, than we will start mixing the tracks. In the meantime we will realize a video-clip to launch the single.
Q: Besides Cadaveria, what are the various band members into when not, touring, rehearsing, recording music?
A: We all have a fixed job. Besides this we all have our hobbies: cinema, music, painting, webdesign…
Q: What is your opinion on the current state of the world? (terror, the war in Iraq, and so on…)
A: As I say in one of my previous song “world is made the contrary of what the common sense is done?:(
