Biography
Bongzilla might be the most obvious of stoner rock/metal bands. I think the band name says it all.
They have a definite Sabbath sound, though as with all bands, they incorporate their own style into the mix as well. Very sludgy, almost doomy at times, some cool samples mixed in here and there to make it one of my favorite stoner rock bands!
Plus it can’t be beat when you want to kick your feet up and relax.

Okay, we’ll start off as usual with some banter.
Though this time it is related to the topic at hand, a review of the CD release Age Of Winters from Austin, Texas stoner metal band The Sword. I am going to admit when I first heard the name of the band and the CD title I assumed it was going to be more icy tundra Nordic Viking Black Metal from Finland or Norway.
Wow, was I wrong!
On the complete opposite hand (as mentioned above) this is sludgy stoner doom metal from Texas. (no ice or vikings in site)
It is nothing new, and has definite Black Sabbath overtones, which some people are tired of as I have gathered, while reading other reviews of this CD. I disagree however, and like this CD alot.

So far the bands reviewed and interviewed here at Metalpedia have been of the Death, Black and Grind metal nature.
We are proud to announce the first article not in one of the aforementioned genres. It’s quite a leap too.
This time we are going to review the new release from Stoner Metal band Nebula, released by Liquor And Poker Music entitled Apollo.
Okay, so I will admit I have not been a fan of this band for very long. Though over the last year or so I have had the opportunity to listen to a few of their releases. I dug it. It was hip and melodic and has a certain feel to it that hits just the right spot when the listener is in the right frame of mind. It reminds me a bit of classic rock with a touch of metal as well as a really spacy ambiance.
