I remember back when I was a youth and was into Ratt, Motley Crue, Ozzy and the likes! (yes I admit it)
A friend of mine had a Slayer album (Show No Mercy, on vinyl even) and we used to listen to it for jokes, as neither of us liked it much.
It was just noise, no melody at all.
Then as the years went by, I found myself interested in harder and heavier metal. First it was Metallica, Anthrax and then came Slayer. It was the Hell Awaits release that converted me. So in a way, Slayer can be credited with igniting my passion for the dark side of metal.
I can still remember the day I heard that intro to the album with that great marching riff, at first that was the only part I liked. Then as more time went by I found myself hooked on the whole album. Especially the song “Hardening of the Arteries”
Thus beginning my love affair with Death Metal!

After having listened to the CD a few times, it isn’t bad, but it is not what I thought it was going to be when I first heard it. It starts off good, but after awhile it kinda starts droning on. The vocals become overwhelming to me, I am used to growls and screams. (maybe my tastes have not changed as much as I think)

No, really I have just been real busy as of late, work, life and all that good stuff that slows down the fun I have around here.
Anyway on with a review as I doubt many of you care what my life is like.
This time around it is Misery Index.
They released a new CD via Relapse Records a few months ago entitled Discordia. As usual I am late with my review, but as they say better late than never.
Even though this band has been around for awhile and have released a few CD’s I have not had the pleasure of listening to them as much as other bands.
