OK the long awaited new release from Finnish folk metal gods Ensiferum has been released. It is entitled Dragonheads and was released by Spinefarm Records a few weeks ago.
This is my opinion of it, I hope you will all agree, or agree to disagree.
It is just what I was hoping for! More great epic battle hymns resembling sounds of long ago, while incorporating a mixture of modern heavy metal and folk stylings as well.
It has pretty much the same feel and rhythm as their previous releases. Great recording quality, melodies and awesome guitar riffs. This stuff makes me want to get out my sword and suit of armor then prepare for battle!

It has been a long time since fans of Devourment have had the opportunity to hear an entire CD of new material from the Dallas grind masters.
Though the time has finally arrived with the release of Butcher The Weak. Self released by the band, Butcher the Weak features the artwork of now vocalist Mike Majewski and contains 8 tracks.
There have been a few lineup changes, but for the most part the band is still the same members. They just switched around what they do.
As I eluded to above, Majewski (former bass player) is now the singer. Ruben Rosas is now the guitarist/backup vocals/bassist and they have added a new drummer Eric Park. I assume they will add a dedicated bassist at some point also.

Q: How long has Ensiferum been together?
A: Markus: 10 years.
Q: How many members are in Ensiferum? Names? Instruments?
A: Markus: There are five members:
- Petri Lindroos: guitar, vocals.
- Markus Toivonen: guitar, vocals.
- Sami Hinkka: bass, vocals.
- Meiju Enho: keyboards.
- Janne Parviainen: drums.
Q: What is the age range of the band members?
A: Markus: It’s from 24 years to 32 years.
Q: What (if any) is the message behind Ensiferum’s lyrics?
A: Markus: Those are just normal fantasy stuff and some “stories”? from our former singer Jari’s life. And new lyrics will be mostly written by our bass-player Sami I guess. Let’s see what is coming out.

Q: Where is Depresy from?
A: Our band is from Trencin, located in western Slovakia.
Q: How long has Depresy been together?
A: Since 1991. The core of the band is together since 1993.
Q: How many members are in Depresy?
A: At the moment we are 5. At most of gigs we are 6, coz we have session keyboard player, she is from Essence of Existence, it is band from the same town as we are. I also participated in their previous album.
